One Night in Beijing - Is too much
And then I come, unravelling a new chapter in my life. Welcoming it? To be frank, I don't think so. I am put off by the huge amount of stress that I am predicting will be coming to haunt me everyday, every night. There are also lots of things that I really do not like, really a lot. Listing them out one by one will take up a lot of my energy. I wonder if I really have to live with it for 2 years. Where can I go? What can I say? Where do I let everything out? Seeing some things really gets on my nerves. Labels: random On Sunday, August 30, 2009 at 1:59 PM

Goodbye wisdom tooth
Goodbye wisdom tooth. Sorry to say but I won't be missing you. I will definitely not miss the pain you have caused me, nor would I miss the huge hole you made in my pocket. The pain and misery you put me through was something new but not welcome. However, you were still a part of me and I felt that I have to say goodbye. I don't know how long you have been inside of me but you have been laid to rest yesterday, finally relieving me of the pain. You still have two comrades within me and they will join you in a matter of time. My dentist showed me how you looked like. What a curly root you have! Just like my hair! Why that shows that you are definitely a part of me that I unfortunately would not like to possess. You had to cause pain of all times...but at least you let me leave for China in peace. Goodbye wisdom tooth. Bye! :) Labels: wisdom tooth On Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 11:29 PM

Meteor Garden vs Hana Yori Dango vs Boys Over Flowers - Part 2
The second part of this comparison series. It's time for the female leads this time! MG vs HYD vs BOF: Makino Tsukushi
Looks Looks alone: Well again, this is comparing the actresses on their look alone with nothing to do with their HYD roles. I had some problem with this, not knowing how to compare. Should I compare how they look outside of their drama or in their drama? Anyway, this is my final decision: 1: Koo Hye Sun 2. Barbie Hsu 3. Inoue Mao HYD scores the lowest on the looks again...but it is not Mao's fault. She is just not pretty enough as compared to the other two. Hye Sun, I have to say, is the luckiest out of all of them. The other two have to endure being "uglified" to a certain extent while she is able to stay pretty. Maybe the lighting does a part as well. I chose Barbie over Mao because I am sort of biased. Barbie, in real life is truly much prettier than Mao or Hye Sun, therefore I placed her at 2nd even though her character was pretty unglam. Suitability to role: Since beauty is not the main thing about Tsukushi, the ranking would most definitely be different here. The ranking for looks alone has been the same for both the male and female leads. However, there will definitely be differences here. 1. Inoue Mao 2. Barbie Hsu 3. Koo Hye Sun As I said, Hye Sun is the luckiest out of the three, her Tsukushi being able to stay pretty. However, it is exactly that that makes her look the most unlike Tsukushi. When I saw Inoue Mao in HYD, my reaction was that she looked every bit like a commoner which was perfect for the role. I'm also guessing that is why she was picked from possibly thousands of hopefuls who wanted their big break seeing how successful the Taiwan version was. Barbie Hsu was also made to look more like a commoner although her features do not suit Tsukushi as well as Mao did. Therefore Mao wins this! (Is that a compliment or not?) Acting Yep, the most important part. As I said before, I totally despise pretty faces with lousy acting who seem to get more and more famous for reasons I do not understand. (Yes I am complaining about the Nonya girl again.) So here goes! 1. Inoue Mao 2. Koo Hye Sun 3. Barbie Hsu The 3 actually act pretty well. However, Mao wins in this category again. Like MatsuJun, she portrayed Tsukushi well, although I think that MatsuJun is really unbeatable in his acting. Her genkiness, determination, ability to stand up each time as well as her struggles between Tsukasa and Rui was brought out really well. The way she cried in front of Tsubaki was totally epic. Hye Sun won over Barbie was due to the genkiness factor. Tsukushi is supposed to be a character that holds a positive outlook in life, however, perhaps due to the scriptwriters or something, it was very much lacking in that defining quality. Barbie's Tsukushi didn't smile as much or is as cheery as the other two. In fact, I think that Hye Sun's is overly cheerful! In conclusion, in terms of acting, Mao wins it! So that concludes my review on the female leads. Next up will be the supporting characters! Labels: boys over flowers, hana yori dango, meteor garden, review On Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 10:58 PM

Meteor Garden vs Hana Yori Dango vs Boys Over Flowers - Part 1
I have been wanting to do this for some time. However, due to the spirit of procrastination and heavy schoolwork, I put this off for a very long time. Now its up due to a friend's request! So here goes! MG vs HYD vs BOF: Doumyoji Tsukasa
Looks Looks alone: This is comparing the actors just by their looks alone, nothing to do with their roles in their respective HYD versions. I think the result is pretty obvious here. Here is my ranking: 1. Lee Min Ho 2. Jerry Yan 3. Matsumoto Jun Unfortunately, the verdict was pretty obvious from the start. MatsuJun was destined to lose, being much shorter and less handsome imo than his compatriots. I think he can be categorised as "cute" instead of handsome. Jerry and Min Ho are both tall with handsome features. I chose Min Ho over Jerry as he has better defined features. Plus I can't seem to get over Jerry's get up in MG, that hideous bandana and curly hair that they decided they could not keep up after several eps. Therefore, Min Ho wins the crown for the most handsome! Suitability to role: This is not how handsome they are, but how suited their looks are for the role. Sigh...considering the fact that Tsukasa is supposedly rich and handsome, I guess the results aren't very different... 1. Lee Min Ho 2. Jerry Yan 3. Matsumoto Jun Once again, MatsuJun is not tall enough or handsome enough... That is the biggest flaw in his portrayal of Tsukasa...but he can't grow another 10cm and change the genes he inherited from his parents right? Jerry and Min Ho have the looks and height for the role, but in the end I chose Min Ho over Jerry. This is because I felt that Min Ho is able to put on a colder and angrier look over Jerry. Jerry's anger and iciness that Tsukasa develops over different parts of the show gives that subtle difference that lost him the crown. Acting Ok, here comes the most important part, acting. A show might have lots of eye candy but lousy actors while another might have fantastic acting but not-so-good looking characters. Which would I watch? I would say the latter. I cannot stand watching a show with lousy acting if I really want to watch the show. If the show isn't important I would be happy to just see the pretty faces and hot bods, which will never be true for me. Think Jeanette Aw. OMG. I would totally give up watching a show to save my eyes from her lousy acting, think Little Nonya. So how would this turn out to be? Here is my ranking: 1. Matsumoto Jun 2. Lee Min Ho 3. Jerry Yan Yayy!!! MatsuJun is top at last! This was the category I had to do the least thinking for number 1. MatsuJun may not be as handsome as the other 2, however I can see why he was casted in the role. I would have to say he is the living portrayal of Tsukasa. He totally brought the character out of the manga to reel life. Tsukasa's goofiness and stupidity (think the stupid grammar mistakes that made us rofl), his violent and angry side to his determination, coldness and tenderness towards Tsukushi, MatsuJun brought it all out perfectly. His acting, I would have to say, is undoubtly the best out of all the Tsukasas. He deserves the crown in every way. Min Ho's acting and Jerry's acting are not that all bad, but they cannot be compared to MatsuJun. Min Ho wins over Jerry because I could actually feel more tenderness in his portrayal than Jerry's. The goofiness in Min Ho's Tsukasa was also not properly brought out, therefore making him look "cool and smart" which is not a defining quality of Tsukasa. MatsuJun, in terms of acting, wins hands down. So that was my opinion of the male leads of MG, HYD and BOF. Hope you liked it Amanda! :) Labels: boys over flowers, hana yori dango, meteor garden, review On Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 9:29 PM

Malware
Ok, I stupidly opened an mail with an attechment. The subject was fotos 27/07. It is a idiotic malware that will continue sending the malware mail to people on your contect list. So if you received it, DO NOT OPEN IT!!! If you clicked on the attachment like me, follow instructions from this site: http://johnhemming.blogspot.com/2009/08/fotos-2707-email-virus-hotmail.html . To check if you have the virus, check your sent mail folder on hotmail. To be doubly sure, restart ie or your computer and check again. Another way is to check your task manager, under processes if it has winnt. Also, if you have the malware, remove it then send mail to everyone on your contact list to inform them!!!!!! Very important!!!!! I hope this helps many people. Labels: malware at 8:55 PM
