Manchester United are champions of England again!
It took a goaless draw against Arsenal for Manchester United to defend their EPL title. Yayy! Man Utd are champions of Europe again!
I am not a true blue football fan but I have been a Man U supporter for years. Why? When the people around you are all fans of Man U while you are growing up, you will somehow become one too. I don't watch football, but I feel sad when I hear of any loss of Man U. I remember hating Chelsea when they suddenly became rich and started buying players and how they pushed Man U away from the title. I was gloating when they lost the next season. Bwahaha!
For all I can remember, Sir Alex Ferguson has been the manager of Man U and is the most successful one to date. I will always remember his outbursts as well as rivalry with Arsene Wenger. I mean how can anyone born in that era forget all about it?
Man U has borne some of the most successful players of its time. Remember David Beckham? To be frank, I am not a big fan of his. He started out in Man U then dumped Man U only to have his career spiral downward. Call it the Man U curse but it will probably happen to Cristiano Ronaldo if he ditches the club that brought him all the glory he has today. And the reports on teammates not happy with him for showing disrespect to Fergie? I think he deserves it.
I just had the urge to watch old Man U videos again yesterday. They were my favourites and probably the few matches that I have memories of. Who can forget 1999, the year history was made with Man U winning the treble. I watched over and over again the 2 comeback goals from the super subs, Teddy Sheringham and ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich. Then I watched the Great Dane Peter Schmeichel save Dennis Bergkamp penalty in the FA Cup semi final replay and Ryan Giggs running the entire length of the field to score the winning goal. Who can ever forget it?
10 years have passed and yet I still can't forget about it. Timeless classics. I would really mourn the day fergie retires...
