Pediatry Day 6
Today is the hell day. The day where we have 三伏贴. I got up at like 5.30am. I actually got up before my alarm clock rang. How? I dreamt of my mother screaming at me to get up..... =_=||| So I dragged myself to the hospital to start work and almost the entire morning I helped to make the medicine to stick on the patients. And one very irritating thing happened. Someone who was not supposed to be in pediatry came to help out and she could actually do the sticking, but not me. And her friend said do not disturb her. One person must do it otherwise will get confused. Oh so what about others? Apparently they never gave others a thought. I managed to do some in the afternoon and the DJs told me that my teacher was seeing patients. She told me I was supposed to do the sticking the entire afternoon. So I went back to help her. After it ended I sticked one of the med on myself too. Haha! Overall it was pretty ok, only that dormant pests decided to come alive again. Can someone please allow me to use pesticide please? Pediatry Day 5
A full day of work on Tuesday. I am supposed to be free in the morning, but someone had to be at the children's tuina. Therefore I went. Oh hell. I so love tuina. I had 4 patients that morning but the amount of stress and tension it had on my muscles seems like I had worked out for an entire day instead of just 3 hours. What made is worse was the incessant crying of the children. Some just cry and cry and cry for no reason. And when a child starts to cry, the other also start to cry. Ok, it may be a little painful but please, do not scream and cry for no reason at all..... I was supposed to do it this morning but luckily I was relieved of my duties. In the afternoon I had to follow my teacher again. This time it was bad. Why? Because after half and hour, I had to fight off Mr. Sandman who was sprinkling, no dumping sand into my eyes. My fight lasted for half and hour and all the time I was trying to do everything to keep awake. My intern ended on time so I went home. I rested the entire day today and now, it is time to get ready for my descent into hell for the next 3 days. 12 and a 1/2 hours of continuous work. Bless me. On Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 8:54 PM

Pediatry Day 4
A bit back-tracking but.... Today, or rather Monday is the first time I have night shift. I woke up in the morning for their change of shifts and left before 8am. Wow. Anyway, after spending time at home I reached the hospital again at 4.18pm to find that my teacher had already started. But hey, I wasn't late! It was supposed to start at 4.30pm! There weren't a lot of patients at that time and my teacher disappeared somewhere to be replaced by another doc. At around 5+ the doc asked me to have dinner. I went to have dinner to see my teacher lying on the bed. Wow. So I ate dinner after microwaving it and got back to work. I never saw my teacher at the doc table again. The number of patients slowly increased as night came and it got a little busy. The doc asked me to go back home at 8.20pm. Night shift was in all, pretty ok. And I managed to get some materials for medical reports too, which was a good thing. at 8:47 PM

~Milestone~ 2010 Natsu no Jin, Beijing
After all, I managed to go the the anime music event. I ran to the market to buy 2 onigiri as I guessed that I would not have the time to eat a proper lunch. Then I went home for a while to put some stuff down and rushed the the mrt. On the way back home, I was thinking about writing a 包子的日记, detailing how a 包子 would feel like in a 蒸笼 for that was exactly what I was feeling!!! I made my way to the appointed place and waited for my CS/China friend and she brought along with her a fellow couch surfer Carlos, who is from Mexico. She told me another friend would be joining, Chris and American. So we walked a long long way to MAO, the place where it was held. Since we had to walk a freaking long way, we were late and missed the first song. Awwwz...... But then I realised Carlos didn't know any J-songs at all!!!! He was there just cos Selita was bringing him around! Anyway, the place where the concert was held was totally, totally STUFFY!!!!!!! I went in and felt asphyxiated! But I have to say besides the asphyxiating atmosphere, the singers were pretty good! Except for a male singer who tried to pull off a male jap singer style and so totally failed!!! Plus there were lots of otakus around, real otakus. Now I feel that I am only a half-otaku.... Just one thing, sometimes the singers sing the wrong lyrics! They are singers....at least remember your lyrics???? There were some really, really good singers especially a girl who has a very high vocal range. Her version of Just Be Friends was beautiful and she sang another song which was very good too. I didn't like the one who sang Akatsuki no Kuruma though. Her voice was a little too cutesy for the song and she actually sang the last verse totally wrong!!!! I was so, so disappointed. Due to the overwhelming stuffiness, we went out for breathers very often and ended up missing some songs. But hey that can't be helped right? Overall I think that it was pretty ok, but my main aim is Animelo Shanghai!!!!!!! After the live, we went for a drink, had some chit chat then went for dinner. And after that I stayed on cos Selita told me that they were going to meet other Csers so I just tagged along. We went to a small bar and I drank nothing but free water. Hahaha!!! Had a small Spanish lesson with Carlos. Now I have to learn how to roll my R's properly!!!!! They were going for karaoke the entire night....... At first, I wanted to go K too. But after hearing that they were going the entire night and with the exorbitant price, I kept saying that I had night shift and I really needed rest. I walked to another subway station to get home and hoped it was my direct line home. And so it was! Just that I walked for around 20mins and my slippers gave way. Damn you cheap slippers.... So that concludes the tiring Saturday. All in all, it was fun talking with people from all over the world and I realised that I really want to sing jap K!!!!!!!!! On Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 4:05 PM

Pediatry Day 3
It really sucks to have to wake up early on a nice Saturday morning, drag my heavy feet and equally heavy eyelids up and plough through the merciless sweltering heat and goodness-knows from where humidity to the hospital for my intern day 3. I was already sweating buckets by the time I set foot in the hospital. Today, actually yesterday, I had specialist intern. Surprisingly, it was not as busy as friday and after that my teacher said that she didn't know why there were so little people today too. Anyway, her "little" is 30+ people..... I wonder how many patients our gps get in one day, much less a morning. Well, I guess when you compare the population of China and Singapore, it makes a lot of difference. I was really busy today too and the grad student...well he was a bit more friendly than the grad student the other day but he was really erm...blur? He was making mistakes all the time and I once got implicated in it. Man I was so totally innocent. It got better in the end as I tried to act busy and acted like I was trying to learn and did the best I could. It was the guy who got a bit of black face from my teacher. Haha! In all it was a pretty good day, just that I ended the latest and I didn't have a complete medical report. My teacher is always just too busy...... After I was released, I ran off for I was going to attend an anime music live event! Heehee!!! at 3:17 PM

Pediatry Day 2
And comes the much-awaited (?) day 2 in pediatry. I was a bit scared. After all I am paired with the head of pediatry. And it all started. The morning was filled, I mean CRAMMED with patients! 50+ patients for the entire morning!!!!!!!! At first I sat there, feeling a bit useless and copying useless stuff for a medical report that obviously could not be borne from what little information that I have. Then I got a bit of jobs, giving them the papers for blood tests and stuff. Then the grad student beside me asked me to copy the results of the blood test onto the book. I was like "Copy wad?". And she just copied it herself.... Ok...... At least it was a bit better in the afternoon. But there were some time we just sat silently, the teacher nor us saying anything. Then I made some mistakes with the papers and what not. Yeah, I may be forgiven now but not in the future. That concludes Day 2. I have morning shift tomorrow and my teacher told me to go for some training in the afternoon. I hope she totally forgets!!!! Cos I still wanna go for my anime music live!!!!!! Please forgive and forget!!!!! On Friday, July 23, 2010 at 9:52 PM

Intern - Pediatry Day 1
I am paired with the head of pediatry. Wow. Is that good or bad? Anyway its her off day today, so after a morning of checking the patients, I am back at home. And I really needed to, for I am so going to cram the entire pediatry textbook into my head. I got traumatised today by the teacher who brought us to the beds. If she were to ask me, I would just go "huh?" and give her a blank look. But in all, it concludes day 1 of my intern. Day 2.....is a full day........ On Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 12:52 PM
